HOOGA seed sowing festival is a celebration of our traditions, culture, and natural farming practices. With pure commitment to revive our roots and practices, HOOGA sowing festival happens every year during May/June/July to gather together and dedicate our time and value to the most important existence of every human being, THE SEEDS. We had farmers from the local village, retired agriculture department professors, research students from TISS, Mumbai, organic farming enthusiasts from different faraway places, and HOOGA team coming together to discuss about our agro biodiversity, climate change impact and seed freedom. The motive is to bring in more people together, put our native culture and traditions first, initiate dialogues on native/desi varieties of food and pave way for a concrete self-reflection and exploration of the current realities in this space.
